Wider Ministries at MBC are partnerships between our workers, their organisations and the people of our church coordinated through the Wider Ministries Task Force
Our Workers
God has blessed us with a group of people endorsed to work on our behalf both around the world, and in Australia.
In addition to these people we also support in a less formal way, a number of people working in Burma, South East and Central Asia, and the Philippines.
The People of the Church support our workers by
- Keeping themselves informed of their current situations, praise points, needs and concerns
- Praying faithfully for them
- Contacting them from time to time
- Donating funds for their support and work
The Task Force coordinates the Wider Ministries program by
- Assisting those seeking endorsement as MBC Wider Ministries workers
- Ensuring that accurate and current information about all of our workers is given through the church newsletter, at services and via monthly prayer notes.
- Organising activities to highlight the work and support of our workers
- Encouraging people to go on short term assignments.
- Administering the funds donated to support our workers.
- As needed, helping workers returning for home assignment. This could include airport pickup, securing accommodation, providing a vehicle, or arranging speaking opportunities.
- Debriefing workers as needed
The Task Force is also responsible to coordinate MBC’s response to the annual May Global Interaction Appeal. In 2009, $12,000 was received.
