Mitcham Baptist Church

Mitcham Baptist Table Tennis Club is a long standing part of our church’s ministry, which presently fields one team in the Eastern Suburbs and Churches Table Tennis Association’s competition. We would love to expand to include more teams.

Playing Table Tennis is an aid to fitness, open to all ages, and girls and guys play in the same team. Our present team consists of three men and one woman.

Each grade consists of six teams, playing a home and away season of ten matches, plus finals. Mitcham’s home matches are played on Thursday evenings, however away matches may be played on other nights. All matches commence at 7.30 pm and conclude between 10 and 11.00 pm.

The cost of playing table tennis is relatively low. You will need a suitable bat, which may cost anywhere from $20 – $150. Playing fees are $30per season, and for those playing more than three matches in a season it is compulsory to register with the Victorian Table Tennis Association. This registration costs $42 per year and includes insurance cover and eligibility to play in the World Championships!

Table Tennis at Mitcham is more than a sport as we also hold regular dinner nights where we enjoy some relaxed time with team mates and their spouses.

Please join us for a social hit, or perhaps you would like to join a team. Three or four players is enough to form a team.
