During the month of May, traditionally at Mitcham Baptist, we emphasise our involvement in mission.

For 2010 the theme for the month will be:

“MISSION – AN AFFAIR OF THE HEART”

Called by God to serve
Partnership with the Church
Resources, spiritual, financial and practical

Each Sunday there will be a great range of Mission speakers at both morning and evening services.

Easter 2010

We’re celebrating Easter, and we’d love for you to join us. Our services this year will be:

Good Friday, 9:30am led by Rev. Garry Wynn. (April 2nd)
Easter Sunday: 10:00am led by Rev. Garry Wynn. (April 4th)
Easter Sunday 6:00pm led by Greg McCann.

Boys Brigade and Girls Brigade

Boys Brigade and Girls Brigade (BB and GB for short) are programs for children, teenagers and young adults; run during the school term. The leaders at BB and GB are all trained in duty of care and have current Working With Children Checks.

Boys Brigade runs on a Friday night, is for boys in grade 1 to year 12, and is structured to appeal to and hold the attention of the boys, as well as teach them new skills in physical, educational, social and spiritual areas of life.

Girls Brigade runs on a Tuesday night, and is for girls aged 5 to 21. The programme covers a wide range of activities which help the physical, mental and spiritual growth of the girls.

There are opportunities to earn badges, achievements and awards; to go hiking, camping, abseiling, horse-riding, mini golfing, and canoeing; to do cooking, craft, bible study, archery and much more!

Urban Kids January 25-29!

Urban Kids is a week-long holiday program for kids of a primary school age. We’ll have crafts, drama, games and a Bible story all thrown together by our group of youth & young adult volunteers for an afternoon of fun. For parents that want a break, kids that want an excuse to get out of the house, and something to do in that tedious last week of the holidays. For parents that want to stick around, there will be cafe food & drink provided, and there will also be a creche for younger kids, and supervised area for games/sport/lounge for older kids.

From 2-4.30 every afternoon from Monday January 25-Friday January 29.

Kids’ Church Celebration Service

Our service this Sunday morning (29/11) will be the Kids’ Church Celebration Service. During the service the kids will be presenting songs and a drama based around the theme “Rediscover Christmas”. We will also be presenting book awards to the children, and farewelling our Grade 6’s of this year.

Annual Church Member’s Meeting

This Wed. 25 November at 7.30pm

Our AGM is scheduled to commence at 7.30pm THIS coming Wednesday, 25 November, 2009 in the front Simla Room and all regular attendees of Mitcham Baptist Church are invited to attend this important meeting. The meeting Agenda will include the elections for two Elders, Church Treasurer and Church Councillor positions.

The complete Agenda for the meeting, together with copies of the Annual Report and current Financial Statement will be available at the meeting for those who haven’t already received copies.

Youth Centre Now Open

3:30 – 6:00pm every Wednesday.

Food, drinks, music, pool, table tennis, soccer, spray painting, friends and lots of fun.
