Mitcham Baptist has a number of activities covering all ages. An extensive small groups ministry and a strong missional support network are part of our vision to impact lives.

We have a vibrant family friendly atmosphere that values people of all ages. Our 10.00am Sunday service seeks to show our heart for all God’s people worshipping together. It is during this time that our Kids experience learning God’s message in a kid friendly atmosphere. A crèche operates during the 10.00am family service to assist parents with small children to participate fully in our worship. Our 6.30pm service celebrates a more contemporary style and enjoys exploring Scripture and its relevance for each day.

Mandarin Service

Our Chinese Mandarin speaking service joins in the 10.00am worship and moves out for a cultural Mandarin sermon from around 10.30am. ALL WELCOME !!!

Burmese (Chin) Service

“ Lai Christian Fellowship ” begins from 1.00pm Sundays

Spiritual Gifts Series

We are launching a 6 part teaching series at both 10am & 6.30pm services on spiritual gifts as outlined in the Bible. There is a weekly discussion in home groups with notes provided.

If you’re a Christian, God has given you at least one spiritual gift. And those gifts aren’t just for your own benefit; their purpose is to bless the Body of Christ. Remember that there are four prerequisites to discovering your gifts: 1)You have to be a Christian, 2) you have to believe in spiritual gifts, 3) you have to be willing to do the work necessary to use your spiritual gifts, and 4) you have to pray for God’s guidance. We will be studying what the Bible says about spiritual gifts, learning how to exercise spiritual gifts and how to use them in ministry. We encourage you to talk to people who are already using their spiritual gifts, and discuss with friends and family what you think your gifts might be. Then experiment with as many gifts as you can by looking for needs in your church and trying to meet them.

Easter 2012

We’re Remembering, Contemplating and Celebrating the events of Easter, and everyone is welcome to come along and join us.

Good Friday: 9 o’clock morning service.
Good Friday is when we remember the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, when he paid for our sins.
We’ll be sharing Hot Cross Buns and a cuppa after the service.

Easter Sunday: 10 o’clock morning service, 6:30pm evening service.
Easter Sunday is when we celebrate the RESURRECTION! of our Lord Jesus, and our sure hope of eternal life with him, as he has beaten death.

All services at Mitcham Baptist Church, 8-12 Simla Street Mitcham.

Morning:
Craft Fair, 10am to 2pm
Come along for morning tea, face painting, Mini-golf, bbq lunch, shopping and lots more.
See the Whizz Kids performing at 12:30.
Location: At the “The Factory” 8-12 Simla St.
Book a table with Anne 0438724967 for $25 to sell your goods.

Evening:

Come watch “The Smurfs” a great family movie for all ages in Halliday Park Mitcham. The movie is free to watch for all.
Arrive 5pm onwards, if you can please walk to the park as parking is limited and we would like to keep this event close to carbon neutral
as possible.
By law, no alcohol is allowed to be consumed in public areas.
Please avoid bringing dogs, but if you do, keep them on the leash.

A canteen with Popcorn $2, Hot Jam Donuts $1.00, Soft drink cans $1.00.

Bring your deck chairs and some food for a picnic in the park (BBQ available)
We will have the entertainment with games for the kids from 5:30pm and the movie starting at dusk.

Mitcham’s Cinema Under the Stars is an event paid for by Mitcham
Baptist Church which meets at “The Factory” 8-12 Simla St Mitcham.

If the weather is bad the indoors location will be at “The Factory”
8-12 Simla St.

Thanksgiving Breakfast

A thanksgiving breakfast is planned for October 23rd at the special time of 9.00-11.00am. This is a day of thanksgiving for all that God has done here at MBC. All welcome.

HyPe Kids Club

HyPe is back, with lots of fun planned for kids in primary school during term 4 !

Cost: $2 per child. Afternoon tea provided.

Age: Prep to Year 6

Fruits of the Spirit and Esther

We have enjoyed stepping up our time and concentration of prayer during our
June Series. Keep at it now !

The evening service preaching Team will take us on a journey through the
book of Esther in our 6.30 service.

Our 10am morning service focus for July – August moves to Galatians and “The
Fruit of the Spirit”. Galatians 5:22, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
self-control; against such things there is no law” (NASB). We could spend a
year of Sunday sermons just talking about those nine things and barely
scratch the surface. However our Sunday morning messages will narrow our
sights to include, Truth, Grace, Faith, & Holiness and we will learn how all
of these characteristics flow out of our Fruit.

Welcome to Prayer month. June 2011 is set aside here at Mitcham for all our small groups to concentrate on prayer. Study guides have been prepared and are available by contacting the office. Many of our groups are participating in a month of fasting and praying. Our main topics are:

Prayer for Revival
To continue our desire to see revival in our lives and the lives of others.

Prayer for Children & Families Pastor
To uphold our Pastoral Search Team and ask God for His wisdom in this matter.

Prayer for our Community
To seek God’s grace upon our community, local leaders, care groups, and schools & clubs

Prayer for Mission
Local and overseas mission, our endorsed missionaries and families.
