Mitcham Baptist has a number of activities covering all ages. An extensive small groups ministry and a strong missional support network are part of our vision to impact lives.

We have a vibrant family friendly atmosphere that values people of all ages. Our 10.00am Sunday service seeks to show our heart for all God’s people worshipping together. It is during this time that our Kids experience learning God’s message in a kid friendly atmosphere. A crèche operates during the 10.00am family service to assist parents with small children to participate fully in our worship. Our 6.30pm service celebrates a more contemporary style and enjoys exploring Scripture and its relevance for each day.

Mandarin Service

Our Chinese Mandarin speaking service joins in the 10.00am worship and moves out for a cultural Mandarin sermon from around 10.30am. ALL WELCOME !!!

Burmese (Chin) Service

“ Lai Christian Fellowship ” begins from 1.00pm Sundays

Thanksgiving Breakfast

A thanksgiving breakfast is planned for October 23rd at the special time of 9.00-11.00am. This is a day of thanksgiving for all that God has done here at MBC. All welcome.

HyPe Kids Club

HyPe is back, with lots of fun planned for kids in primary school during term 4 !

Cost: $2 per child. Afternoon tea provided.

Age: Prep to Year 6

Fruits of the Spirit and Esther

We have enjoyed stepping up our time and concentration of prayer during our
June Series. Keep at it now !

The evening service preaching Team will take us on a journey through the
book of Esther in our 6.30 service.

Our 10am morning service focus for July – August moves to Galatians and “The
Fruit of the Spirit”. Galatians 5:22, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
self-control; against such things there is no law” (NASB). We could spend a
year of Sunday sermons just talking about those nine things and barely
scratch the surface. However our Sunday morning messages will narrow our
sights to include, Truth, Grace, Faith, & Holiness and we will learn how all
of these characteristics flow out of our Fruit.

Welcome to Prayer month. June 2011 is set aside here at Mitcham for all our small groups to concentrate on prayer. Study guides have been prepared and are available by contacting the office. Many of our groups are participating in a month of fasting and praying. Our main topics are:

Prayer for Revival
To continue our desire to see revival in our lives and the lives of others.

Prayer for Children & Families Pastor
To uphold our Pastoral Search Team and ask God for His wisdom in this matter.

Prayer for our Community
To seek God’s grace upon our community, local leaders, care groups, and schools & clubs

Prayer for Mission
Local and overseas mission, our endorsed missionaries and families.

Our evening services have returned after a short summer break, church starts at 6:30pm Sunday, and we would love to see you there!

Our morning service continues at 10am each Sunday.

Christmas Service Times 2010

This Christmas season at Mitcham, we look forward to gathering together to celebrate the birth of our Saviour, Jesus.
Over the Christmas and holiday period our schedule of services changes a little, here is what is happening.

12th of December, 5pm: Christmas Carols at Whitehorse
We’re joining our community in celebrating Christmas at the Nunawading Sound-shell, by singing Christmas carols and watching the Christmas story in drama form. Bring a picnic tea and a picnic rug. Further information available from Whitehorse Council here. No evening service at the church building.

18th of December, 7:30pm: Christmas Celebration Evening
Join us for “The Christmas Story in Black and White” on Saturday at Mitcham Baptist Church. Bring a rug, bean bag or pillow to sit on (or just sit on the carpet!) and we’ll have a enormous indoor family picnic to celebrate Christmas! (Chairs will be available for those who need them.)

Summer is upon us, and many people from Mitcham Baptist will be doing different summer missions. We’re going to commission them by praying for them, to show that we support the work they will be doing over the summer.

New sermon series: Revelation and James

After the conclusion of the Revival Series We are now working through two new sermon series, one in the morning and one in the evening.

In the morning service (Sunday 10 am): We are looking at the book of Revelation and God’s message to the churches, and how that message applies to us today.

In the evening service (Sunday 6:30 pm): We are looking at Growing in Christian Maturity by exploring the book of James.
